I must remember that. And, yes, romance has come a long way since women couldn't admit to having desires and so had to use the 'forced seduction' trope. (Actually read the first 20 pages last night)I can't believe they actually printed it the way it was written.
If women who enjoy sex are sluts, then I will happily call myself one.
No, I haven't taken your post the wrong way, I tollay agree with everything you have said in it.
Women have changed from reading the old Barbara Cartland and the older type Mills and Boon.
The media just needs to wake up to the wider range of Authors who are putting out great books which may or may not include sex.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05687411090632610622noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3039726215669901937.post-15753121303661590832012-12-08T10:00:52.623+11:002012-12-08T10:00:52.623+11:00I agree, Sandy! Until someone has actually read a romance novel I refuse to stress over their comments as they speak from ignorance.

My fav. question to field is about the sex scenes in my books. You get the inevitable "Do you write sex scenes from experience?" I always counter with "So, would you ask a thriller/suspense author do they write murder scenes from experience?" That makes them stop and think and I always finish off with "It's called using your imagination." Back in the late 1980's when folk found out this minister's wife was writing her first novel, a romance, the annoying question that popped up far too many times was "Another Barbara Cartland?" how times change!
Don't get me wrong. Some of her earlier books I enjoyed but then...Mary Hawkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12603850711168486457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3039726215669901937.post-1015842240099726712012-12-08T09:01:32.195+11:002012-12-08T09:01:32.195+11:00This post should be on every romance writers' ...This post should be on every romance writers' blog. We should make it go viral. Sometimes when I'm asked what I do and I reply proudly and strongly that I write romance novels, I can almost see the questioner spinning their mental wheels to stop a derogatory comment and come up with something favourable.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
